Polyurea coating is one of the toughest waterproofing and protective coatings available – a seamless, elastic membrane that cures in seconds and stands up to heavy traffic, chemicals and the UAE heat. Saba Al Waha applies spray polyurea for roofs, car parks, tanks and industrial sites across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and all emirates.
What is polyurea?
Polyurea is a two-part coating sprayed hot through a special high-pressure machine. The two parts mix at the spray gun and cure almost instantly, building a thick, seamless membrane in a single pass. The result is extremely strong yet flexible, so it can bridge cracks and move with the structure without splitting.
Where polyurea is used
- Roofs and podiums – a seamless waterproof membrane, including over complex details.
- Car parks and ramps – waterproofing and wear protection in one layer.
- Water tanks and reservoirs – lining for potable and process water with suitable approved grades.
- Industrial floors and secondary containment – resistance to chemicals and abrasion.
- Metal structures and pipes – corrosion protection for steel.
Advantages
- Very fast curing – areas can often be walked on within hours, cutting downtime.
- Seamless – no joints or laps for water to find.
- Highly elastic – stretches with movement and bridges cracks.
- Tough – resists abrasion, impact and many chemicals.
- Works in heat and humidity – less affected by site conditions than many other coatings.
- Long-lasting – with a UV-stable top coat on exposed areas.
Our application process
- Inspection – we check the surface and agree the system and thickness.
- Preparation – grinding, shot blasting or cleaning, and repairs to cracks and joints.
- Primer – a primer suited to concrete, metal or the existing surface.
- Spray application – polyurea sprayed to the specified thickness with thickness checks during the work.
- Top coat – UV-stable or anti-slip top coat where needed.
Polyurea needs specialist equipment and trained applicators. Our crews work under a dedicated supervisor, using manufacturer-approved systems.
Frequently asked questions
Is polyurea better than epoxy?
They do different jobs. Polyurea is flexible and fast-curing, so it is better for waterproofing and areas that move; epoxy is rigid and suits smooth interior floors. We often combine them.
Can polyurea go over an existing roof?
Often yes, after proper preparation and adhesion checks.
Is it safe for drinking water tanks?
Yes, when a grade approved for potable water is used.
